Enter the Särkänniemi Aquarium and you'll plunge into an underwater adventure. You can stare into the face of fearsome piranhas, or be amazed by the deadly beauty of the poisonous Lionfish.

The Aquarium boasts a vast range of amazing aquatic animals from around the world. In addition to fish, you can observe turtles and lizards. The Aquarium also displays different species of Finnish fish. Informative signs will give you plenty of facts about each species and the living environments of aquatic animals.

The selection of species at the Aquarium changes every year. Aquarium scenery is also renewed annually. The main purpose of these changes is to ensure that the inhabitants of the aquarium can exist in environments as close as possible to their natural habitats.

Experience a thunderstorm in the Aquarium

In the ground floor of Aquarium you can find a tank with mangrove trees and tropical fish. The inhabitants of this tropical tank are for example diamond fish and archer fish. The thunderstorm is demonstrated in the tank every 30 minutes.
