Robin goes Hype!
This year, Särkänniemi Theme Park is working closely with Finland’s most beloved teen pop sensation, Robin. Robin has over 460 000 sold albums, which is a big deal in a country with just over 5 million people. Robin has 390 000 followers on Instagram and 143 000 followers on Facebook. Robin’s music has been streamed over 10 million times on Spotify.
Robin did a remix of his song called ”Lentoon” (which in Finnish means flying) and the colourful music video was shot in Särkänniemi. Särkänniemi organized a competition on Instagram, where you could win a place as a dancer on the music video. Hundreds of fans applied and 12 were chosen. The music video was released on 14th June – during the same week as the Hype opening.
During the video shoot, Robin was very active in his social media channels. He posted a photo that had 21 000 likes, a video that had 50 000 views and a Facebook live feed that had 25 000 views. In addition to that, Robin did three Snapchat posts from Särkänniemi. Särkänniemi’s own marketing team also did social media posts of the day.
Robin performed in Särkänniemi in the grand opening of the roller coaster Hype on the 18th of June. Särkänniemi organized a competition for a special Meet&Greet session with Robin. The winners got to meet with the artist and ride aboard Hype together with him. Särkänniemi can use all the photos and video material shot in the theme park, as well as the song and the music video, until the end of 2017.
